About Us

Based in San Diego, California, SciCrunch Inc. was founded on a desire to reduce scientific irreproducibility. Our mission is to improve scientific literature through the development of tools and services around the provisioning of research resource identifiers (RRIDs). Initially, SciCrunch was established to specifically address the long term sustainability of technologies and data assets developed through the neuroscience information framework (NIF) and the NIDDK information network (dkNET) projects. As a result, we are constantly advocating to ensure that data remain open and free to use in order to build for a more sustainable tomorrow.

SciCrunch Inc. was founded in December of 2015 by Drs. Bandrowski and Martone. After over 50 years combined in the industry, they saw a need for a company that not only knew the ins and outs of the research life-cycle but also looked at the big picture with an emphasis on scientific reproducibility. Between them, they have developed and lead dozens of teams across a multitude of projects including Force11 and the Resource Identification Initiative, working to restore the public's confidence back into scientific research.
